Lisa's passion for pottery began at Ohio Northern University where she took ceramics courses while studying for her Pharmacy degree. She loves balancing creativity with her background in science by experimenting with formulas and forms. Of course, it's great when a beautiful piece comes out of the kiln, but for Lisa, a good part of the joy lies in the process and the discovery.

Lisa's pottery consists primarily of functional pieces, especially pottery that can be used in food preparation and serving – a reflection of her love for cooking and baking. Recently, her focus has turned to include a more decorative or sculptural aspect to her work by employing low-relief carving and cut-outs while still maintaining the functionality of the piece. She draws inspiration from architecture, textiles, gardens, and the landscapes of her travels. “It is such a pleasure to be able to make something for others to use and enjoy.”
