South County Fiber Arts is a group of fiber enthusiasts dedicated to preserving fiber arts traditions while seeking to inspire others through education, personal growth, and sharing.
Members offer each other tips and advice on all fiber-related arts, from choosing a fleece to dyeing, spinning, weaving, knitting, and more. Demonstrations at local historical and school events enable participants to share their knowledge and love of fiber arts with participants of all ages. Attending fiber festivals together is a favorite activity, and we encourage each other every step of the way.
Bring your fiber projects and join us on the first Thursday of each month. The group meets from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. in the Social Hall at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 1747 W. Milham Avenue, Portage. For those interested in knitting, crocheting, and quilting, join our Knit and Stitch group on Fridays from 10 to noon at Mackenzies Bakery, 103 E. Prairie St, Vicksburg.
